Gujarat Titans will take on the Chennai Super Kings in their next encounter at the MCA Stadium in Pune on the second game of the doubleheader on the 17th of April. Gujarat Titans have been the most impressive team so far in IPL 2022 with four wins in five games and are rightly at the top of the points table. Hardik Pandya has stepped up in all three departments for his side and it certainly looks, like he is enjoying the role of leadership for his franchise.

On the other hand, the Chennai Super Kings managed to register their first victory of the season in the previous game against the Royal Challengers Bangalore after four losses to start their campaign this season. The Ravindra Jadeja-led side still has a lot of work to do in terms of their bowling department as their batting has been relatively doing well on most occasions. Mukesh Choudhary did not have the best of days with the ball and he might face the axe after dropping two sitters as well.

Pitch Report

In the previous game at the MCA Stadium, it was a run-fest and the pitch has been a belter so far to bat on. Despite the team batting first winning the game, the wicket looked like any score could be chased. The captain that wins the toss is likely to bowl first with the dew factor that might come in later.

Probable Playing XIs for GT vs CSK

Gujarat Titans

Wriddhiman Saha (Wk), Shubman Gill, Vijay Shankar, Hardik Pandya (C), David Miller, Rahul Tewatia, Abhinav Manohar, Rashid Khan, Lockie Ferguson, Mohammed Shami, Alzarri Joseph

Chennai Super Kings

Robin Uthappa, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Moeen Ali, Ambati Rayudu, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja (c), MS Dhoni (wk), Dwayne Bravo, Chris Jordan, Maheesh Theekshana, Tushar Deshpande/Mukesh Choudhary

Probable Top Performers

Probable best batter of the Match: Moeen Ali

Moeen Ali was unfortunate to be dismissed by run out after a mix up in the middle against RCB in the previous encounter and he still hasn’t set the stage on fire in this IPL. The left-hander can be very destructive once he gets going and is one of the best players of spin as well. He will be looking to make up for missing out in the previous game and a big inning is certainly around the corner for him.

Probable best bowler of the Match: Dwayne Bravo

Dwayne Bravo has been one of the better bowlers for the Chennai Super Kings this season and he has brought out all his T20 experience to get ahead of the batters. The all-rounder picked up 1 for 42 in his 4 overs in the previous fixture and took up the responsibility of bowling the tough overs. Catches went down off his bowling and he is expected to add more wickets to his tally in the upcoming fixture.

Today’s match prediction: Chennai Super Kings to win the match.
