IPL 2022: Match 40 – Predicted Sunrisers Hyderabad XI vs Gujarat Titans
SRH have won all their previous five encounters.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will be facing Gujarat Titans (GT), for the second time in IPL 2022, in their next contest scheduled at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The Kane Williamson-led side had the upper hand when the two teams clashed earlier this month as they comfortably won the game by eight wickets.
SRH are on a winning spree, with five consecutive victories in their last seven games, and Williamson’s luck at the toss has been favoring him as well. The team is in great form, especially after their recent win against the Royal Challengers Bangalore when they dished them out for mere 68 runs in the first innings. The bowlers did a commendable job in the last game, and the top-order batters are on a roll for the past few games.
Here’s the predicted Playing XI of Sunrisers Hyderabad for Match 40 of IPL 2022:
Openers: Abhishek Sharma & Kane Williamson (c)
Despite the fact that skipper Kane Williamson has been struggling for the past few matches, his partner Abhishek Sharma has been scoring really well on top of the order. Abhishek has scored 220 runs in seven games and has put up some outstanding performances recently, including 75 against CSK and 42 against GT as both came in a winning cause. Williamson on the other hand soon needs to get going in the tournament. One big knock will be a confidence booster for him.
Middle Order: Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran (wk)
Both Rahul Tripathi and Aiden Markram have been performing well this season. The two are in good form, and their quick-fire knocks help the team to put up a big score in the end, or chase down the score in the death overs.
Markram and Nicholas Pooran have been the anchors of their team. The two have the ability to hit the big shots, and thus they put it out to display with sheer perfection. Pooran has regained his form, and has showcased some fine finishing abilities. His work with the gloves behind the stumps has also been a big plus for the side.
All-Rounders: Shashank Singh & Jagadeesha Suchith
As there has been no update on Washington Sundar’s availability, Suchith will keep his place in the team. His performance with the ball against the RCB was terrific, as he conceded only 12 runs in three overs scalping two wickets in the spell.
The two haven’t received a proper chance with the bat yet, because the top and middle-order batters have been very successful in the past few games. But because they’re a part of a winning side with experienced players in front, they should surely be able to strike well with the bat.
Bowlers: Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Marco Jansen, Umran Malik, T Natarajan
Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the most experienced bowler on the side, and one of the most dependable persons for the skipper to go to. Jansen was the star of the show in SRH’s previous encounter against RCB when he dismissed the opponent’s top three in a single over. Umran Malik, the speedster, is known to set the speedgun on fire.
He has been a great find from SRH and has the ability to provide his team with crucial breakthroughs towards the end of the game. Natarajan was also very impressive in the previous game as he joined hands with Jansen to outclass the RCB batters. His three-wicket haul gave him much-needed confidence, and he will look to perform similar heroics in the next contest.
SRH Predicted XI: Abhishek Sharma, Kane Williamson (c), Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Shashank Singh, Jagadeesha Suchith, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Marco Jansen, Umran Malik, T Natarajan
