IPL 2022: Most expensive player for each team from mega auction and his performance so far
These are the players with the most expensive price tags in this year's Mega Auction
10. CSK- Ambati Rayudu (INR 6.75 cr)
Chennai’s call of backing its veteran players over the years has remained the same and also has worked to the fortune of the franchise. CSK’s most expensive buy was pacer Deepak Chahar who unfortunately missed out on the whole tournament due to a hamstring injury. The bowling department is surely missing the pacer.
Whereas, the next highest buy was 36-year-old Ambati Rayudu. The right-handed batsman has announced retirement from all forms of cricket but continues to play in IPL. His previous season with CSK helped the franchise lift the cup in 2021 with the veteran scoring a total of 257 runs including 2 half-centuries.
This season, Rayudu has scored 256 runs in ten games and has maintained a strike rate of around 130. His knocks in the middle have consistently balanced the sinking boat of CSK. Rayudu averages 32 so far. His one-handed age-defining catch against RCB is one of the best catches of this season.
