4) Kolkata Knight Riders
Kolkata Knight Riders have started their 2022 campaign on a much brighter note as compared to the last season. They have won two of their initial three matches, and are placed in the top four at the moment. KKR remain strong contenders to at least make it to the top four, given that they have a well-rounded side. With Pat Cummins’ addition, their bowling attack is only going to get better and stronger.
Umesh Yadav has somewhat been a surprise package this season, claiming eight wickets in three games. Tim Southee has also made his experience count and has picked up five wickets in two games. However, the runner-ups of the last season will demand more from their top order, particularly, Venkatesh Iyer who has misfired in all three games so far. The likes of Nitish Rana and skipper Shreyas Iyer are also yet to hit the ground running this season. There are also question marks over Andre Russell’s fitness, and if he can play all 14 games of the season.
