One of the most successful teams in the last three editions, the Delhi Capitals (DC) team has experienced individuals as their coaching staff. The head coach of the team is Ricky Ponting, who is a two-time World Cup-winning captain of the Australian team, and also donned this role in 2017 for MI. He was appointed in 2018 but found success since 2019 with the right connection with the DC players.

The team has three assistant coaches, Pravin Amre, Ajit Agarkar, and Shane Watson. The most qualified among the three is Pravin, who was the head coach of the champion Indian U19 team in the 2012 World Cup. He served as a talent scout for DC from 2013 to 2019. In 2021, he was appointed as the assistant coach and has reaped the benefits of his efforts.

Agarkar was a part of 26 Tests, 191 ODIs, and four T20Is for the Indian team from 1998 to 2007. He has been a part of 42 IPL matches as well. Watson featured in 145 IPL matches until 2021 and was known to be one of the best T20 players around the world, and will help the youngsters with his experience of playing in different franchise leagues.
