4. Delhi Capitals
Interestingly in the DC dugout, their four retained players have exhibited themselves in a bittersweet manner. For example, the skipper Rishabh Pant has consistently contributed but is yet to score his first fifty. Similarly even Prithvi Shaw has been eruptive but is yet to surpass the 300-run mark.
Comprehensively, the local boy in its opening position has been incredible. By commendably doing his role, Shaw has batted at an explosive strike rate of 159.88. Perhaps in Rishabh Pant’s case, the southpaw has presently scored 294 runs at an average of 32.67. In fact even strike rate-wise, the gloveman has been adequate (156.38).
But with regards to the retained bowlers, both Axar Patel and Anrich Nortje have been peculiar. In Nortje’s case, the speedster has just played 4 games and leaked runs at an economy of 10.53. Horrifically, the left-arm spin option of Axar Patel has also just scalped 4 wickets from 11 matches.
All in all, despite encountering many roadblocks both on and off-field, Delhi is earnestly alive in the playoffs race. Genuinely for their fans, the franchise will leave no stone unturned to consecutively qualify again.
