9. Sunrisers Hyderabad – 5.5/10
The Sunrisers Hyderabad finished the last season at the bottom of the table and their first game in 2022 was also quite like the previous season. SRH lost their first game against Rajasthan Royals by a big margin of 61 runs. SRH was once considered the best bowling line-up in the league but things definitely have changed now.
Except for Bhuvneshwar Kumar, every SRH bowler went for runs. The RR batters completely dominated the SRH bowling line-up. Even Washington Sundar, who is known to be economical with the ball, got hammered for a lot of runs. They were seen missing the spin wizard Rashid Khan in that game.
The top-order of the Hyderabad-based franchise looked clueless in front of Trent Boult and Prasidh Krishna. Markram fought quite well during the middle overs but his runs were not enough. Sundar played a quickfire cameo in the last few overs but it was too late. Hopefully, SRH’s top order will contribute a lot more.
