Threats: Lack of experienced pace bowling options

Though the Royals have the experienced New Zealand fast bowler, Trent Boult, as a part of their squad, the team is not the most well-resourced when it comes to their pace bowing options. While Boult has been a successful bowler at the IPL, being exceptional for the Mumbai Indians in the past, he might lack experience from the other end.

In Prasidh Krishna and Obed McCoy, RR does have potential. However, both those bowlers are still very new on the scene and could falter under pressure. Navdeep Saini has been expensive in his last few outings at the IPL and does not instil much confidence in certain playing conditions. Nathan Coulter-Nile is another bowler that the team roped in but the Australian cricketer has shown fragility in regards to his fitness and is injury prone.

There thus would be more than desired responsibility on Boult to lead the attack and in a situation where he has to miss game time, the franchise from Rajasthan can struggle to contain oppositions.
