IPL 2022: Team-wise one young player who looks certain to serve the franchise for long duration

9. KKR- Shivam Mavi
Surprisingly in the IPL 2022 mega auction, KKR lacked buying a spree of young talent. As of now, the franchise has rewarded players who have previously represented them. Even in their four retentions, Kolkata decided to back its stalwarts. However, amidst all this, the management has shown immense faith in the youngster Shivam Mavi.
Perhaps ever since the pacer’s U19 World Cup triumph, Mavi has been part of the KKR setup. In his IPL career, the speedster has played 32 games and scalped 30 wickets. His best season so far has been IPL 2021 wherein Mavi picked 11 wickets from 9 matches at an exceptional economy of 7.24. However, currently in IPL 2022, the 23-year old has been completely off-colour.
But barring these small hiccups, Mavi looks a substantial pacer to have in the dugout. As a proposition, the speedster carries all the modern-day attributes and is ready to challenge himself in all situations. More importantly, KKR also likes casting the lad as their premier local pacer. Overall, very determinedly Kolkata wants Mavi to represent them for as long as possible.
