IPL 2022: Team-wise worst pick of the tournament
Some players have failed to live up to the hopes of their franchises and have failed to prove their efficacy in the tournament so far.
5. Manish Pandey – Lucknow Super Giants
Manish Pandey was picked up by the debutant team Lucknow Super Giants after being released by SRH at a whopping price o INR 4.60 cr. He was an integral part of SRH in the previous three editions of the Indian Premier League and was bought by LSG due to his reputation as a reliable middle-order batsman. However, his performance has been below par in the tournament so far.
Pandey has scored only 66 runs in the five innings. He was brought into the LSG squad to strengthen their middle order as they lack big names there. However, he has failed to give the solid support to the team. This has left a gap in the lower middle order and as a result, there has been a collapse of LSG’s middle-order on a few occasions. Due to his constant below-par performance in the tournament he has turned out to be the worst pick for LSG in the tournament.
