IPL 2022: Umran Malik nails a perfect yorker to castle Shreyas Iyer, Dale Steyn celebrates in style

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) started their campaign on a sombre note in the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). After losing the first two matches, not many gave them a chance. But the team did well to pick up two consecutive wins and the bowlers have also continued to shine for them on a consistent basis. Against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Friday (April 15), the bowling attack clicked in unison with the pacers making life difficult of the opposition batters.

SRH managed to pick early wickets pushing KKR into rebuilding mode. Skipper Shreyas Iyer, however, every now and then, was looking to up the ante. Moreover, he was shuffling a lot in his crease to unsettle bowlers’ length. This is where express pacer Umran Malik sensed a chance. The 10th over of the innings was a fierce battle between Umran and the KKR captain with the latter looking to play some cheeky shots.

But Umran had the last laugh in the end as he nailed a perfect pacy yorker to disturb Shreyas Iyer’s furniture. The batter exposed all his three stumps trying to get away from the line of a short-pitch delivery. However, Umran Malik was smart enough to execute a perfect yorker, at pace, that cannoned into Iyer’s stumps. Not only the bowler but SRH bowling coach Dale Steyn was pumped up. The latter got up from his seat in the dugout to celebrate the dismissal.

KKR troubled with injuries in their camp

As far as the match is concerned, KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer revealed at the toss that the squad is troubled with injuries. They made three changes for the game including Aaron Finch, Sheldon Jackson and Aman Hakim Khan for this game in place of Ajinkya Rahane, Sam Billings and Rasikh Salam. Moreover, Rasikh has already been ruled out of the tournament with the franchise signing Harshit Rana replacing him in the squad.
