IPL 2022: Virat Kohli walks entire way back to the pavilion with head down, IPL shares video
Kohli bagged his second consecutive golden duck in IPL 2022 on Saturday (April 23).
Virat Kohli is simply not getting runs. The man bagged his second consecutive golden duck in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season in the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Saturday (April 23). The former RCB skipper was dismissed for a first-ball duck in the previous game against Lucknow Super Giants by Dushmantha Chameera. This time around, he was sent back by South Africa youngster Marco Jansen.
After losing the toss, RCB got off to a torrid start losing Faf du Plessis in the second over of the innings itself with Jansen breaching his defence with a brilliant delivery. Virat Kohli then walked out to bat and got a snorter from the Proteas cricketer. The left-arm pacer bowled a 140.5 kph delivery around off and the batter played with hard hands only to edge the ball to the second slip where Aiden Markram didn’t make any mistake.
The credit of the dismissal has to go to SRH skipper Kane Williamson as well who made sure to have two slip fielders with the new ball swinging a fair bit. Virat Kohli stood in the middle with disbelief after getting out and had a wry smile on his face as well. He had to take a long walk back to the pavillion and the man did so with his heads down all the way. Kohli is struggling with his batting big time now with even former India head coach Ravi Shastri suggesting he should take a break from the game.

Virat Kohli’s struggle in IPL 2022
The 15th edition of the IPL hasn’t been kind to Virat Kohli. He has scored only 119 runs in eight innings now at a mediocre average of 17 and a strike-rate of 122.68. The 33-year-old is yet to score a fifty this season and has crossed the 40-run mark only twice with the highest score being 48. His not-so-good international form and has crept into the IPL as well and the Indian fans will be worried now given that the national team’s two best batters – Rohit Sharma and Kohli – are struggling in the ongoing season.
