IPL: 5 players who performed well after joining Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)
Here’s a look at five such players who improved after joining the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL.
4. KL Rahul
KL Rahul was initially seen as someone predominantly suited to the longer formats of the game, and no one would have seen him become the T20 star that he is today. He was with RCB in 2013, but didn’t do well in the given chances and was subsequently bought by SRH.
The wicketkeeper-batsman was given a good number of chances by the Hyderabad-based franchise but he failed to make use of them and could only score 308 runs in 20 games at a poor strike rate of 106.2.
However, he once again returned to his local team in 2016 and had a terrific season as he scored 397 runs in 14 games at a strike rate of 146.49 while batting in the middle order. Rahul was also selected for the limited-overs squads based on his performances, and he hasn’t looked back since. Like Gayle, even Rahul plays for Punjab and is also their captain.
