Playing XI-

Kings XI Punjab: Hashim Amla, Murali Vijay (C), Glenn Maxwell, David Miller, Marcus Stoinis, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Gurkeerat Singh Mann, Axar Patel, Mohit Sharma, KC Cariappa, Sandeep Sharma

Mumbai Indians:

Rohit Sharma (C), Unmukt Chand, Ambati Rayudu, Nitish Rana, Kieron Pollard, Jos Buttler (wk), Krunal Pandya, Harbhajan Singh, Tim Southee, Mitchell McClenaghan, Jasprit Bumrah

Being asked to bowl first, Murali Vijay said: “Playing really well as a team. That’s more important for us. Looking forward and we would have batted first too because the wicket looks dry. But it doesn’t matter, we have to get one run extra. We have a couple of changes – Maxwell comes in, Gurkeerat replaces Anureet.”

After winning the toss Mumbai skipper Rohit Sharma said: “We will bat first. Looks a good track but will get slower as the game progresses, so wanted to bat first. We saw two games played here and felt that defending the score was easy. Batsmen found it difficult to play shots later. We are not sure what we will get out of it – nice and hard track, so bat first. Put the runs on the board and defend later. Was a good game in Bangalore and restricting them to 150 was a great effort. To chase down with Pollard and Jos was fantastic. We wanted them to be in good form and we know how dangerous they can be. Them having a time out in the middle was good. Now that we have everyone in good nick, we are a pretty confident unit. Parthiv misses out and Unmukt gets a game.”

Mumbai Indians host the Kings XI Punjab at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam in match number 43 of IPL 9. Mumbai have won the toss and have opted to bat first.
