IPL 9: Points table, Purple Cap, Orange Cap and fixtures after the GL v KKR Match 38
IPL 9 is now getting towards its business end when all teams are closing in to get to the playoffs stage. The Gujarat Lions defeated the Kolkata Knight Riders at Kolkata to stamp their authority on the top of the points table. Sunrisers Hyderabad rose to the second spot with a thumping 85 run win over the Mumbai Indians. Sunrisers and the Knight Riders have 12 points each with the net run rate giving SRH an edge over KKR. Delhi slipped to the 4th place and have 10 points to their name. Mumbai Indians suffered a defeat at the hands of SRH, which sees them slip to the bottom four.
The match between Kings XI Punjab and Royal Challengers Bangalore will help the winning side get closer to the top 4 teams.

Virat Kohli has extended a mile-long lead in the Orange Cap list with a scintillating century against the RPS recently. Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper David Warner rose back to the second spot after a knock of 48 against the Mumbai Indians. RPS opener Ajinkya Rahane is placed 3rd with 417 runs to his name. Gautam Gambhir failed to get among the runs in the match against Gujarat Lions and still remains to be on the 4th spot.
Shikhar Dhawan scored an unbeaten 82 against the Mumbai Indians and has made it to the 8th spot with 310 runs to his name. RCB skipper Virat Kohli will have his chance to make it to the 600 run mark if he hits another 59 runs against Kings XI Punjab at Mohali.

Andre Russell and Mitch McClenaghan take the top two spots in the Purple Cap list with 14 wickets each. A better economy rate gives Russell the Purple Cap at the moment. Both took a wicket each in their respective matches on Sunday. Mustafizur Rahman picked up 3/16 against the Mumbai Indians to make it to 3rd position with 13 wickets. He is joined by his team mate Bhuvneshwar Kumar with 13 wickets as well at the 4th spot.
Shane Watson of RCB and Mohit Sharma of KXIP will be in focus in the match between KXIP and RCB to rise up the table in the Purple Cap list.
