IPL Fantasy League 2021 – Match 17, PBKS vs MI – Fantasy Tips

The 17th match in this IPL 2021 season will start at 7:30 PM IST, between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Mumbai Indians (MI) in Chennai. In this article, let us discuss the Season Long Fantasy League team setup for Match 17.

Both these teams have lost their previous matches due to poor batting performance. Mumbai are likely to replace Jayant Yadav with their overseas pacer. They might also give one opportunity to Piyush Chawla as the ball is turning quite nicely in Chepauk. Three changes in Punjab’s last match failed miserably. It will be interesting to see whether they will stick to their combination or not. This is the last match in Chennai for both these teams before they play their next match on a new venue.

Mumbai Indians are taking a long break after this match. So it is not advisable to bring in any of the MI players to the fantasy team unless you want to make them as Captain/Vice-Captain. Punjab Kings play their next match in a four-match span. We will be able to carry few players to their next match.

Transfer Out:

Harshal Patel (RCB): RCB plays their next match in four-match span. So we will transfer out Harshal Patel and we can get him back in our fantasy team using free uncapped transfer for RCB next match.

Uncapped Transfer In:

Murugan Ashwin (PBKS): When we release Harshal Patel, there is a mandatory bowler vacant spot with 7 Credits left. Murugan Ashwin perfectly fits that slot. So, we are transferring him in despite his lackluster performance this season.

Captain: KL Rahul (PBKS)

KL Rahul is in good form but failed in the last game. We are making him the Captain due to his batting position and dual scoring ability.

Vice Captain: Surya Kumar Yadav (MI)

Surya Kumar Yadav is in glorious touch. He failed in the last match. Considering there is no big threat in the Punjab bowling unit, we are making him vice-captain one more time.

KL Rahul and Surya Kumar Yadav are the first choice captaincy options for many fantasy teams. However, there are a lot of good players in the current match who can shower good fantasy points. 1) Jasprit Bumrah 2) Quinton De Kock 3) Rohit Sharma 4) Chris Gayle

Sometimes it is important to pick up a differential player as your fantasy team Captain/Vice Captain. If that clicks, you will quickly jump up in the rankings. That comes with a caveat that if the move fails, you will fall behind in the rankings. The differential player should be of high potential but might not be making good scores recently (Ex. Rohit Sharma for this match). So, choose your differential player based on your playing style.
