After opting to bat first, RR scored 162 with a loss of six wickets, with Shane Watson as their key performer. In a chase of a near par total, two talented batters in form of Dwayne Smith and Sachin Tendulkar were at the crease for the MI team. Tendulkar scored an unbeaten 58 off 51 balls, with six fours and displayed fine composure to his partner, who had gone all guns blazing. Batting first, Royals did well to post 177 on the board, with Shivam Dube returning as the top run-scorer for the team. Chasing down a par total on the board, Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal opened for RCB. They provided a terrific platform with around 60 runs in the powerplay overs, and continued their delightful shots all around the park. With Kohli serving as the key anchor with 72 off 47, Padikkal was at his very best to hit his career-best 101* off 52 balls comprising 11 fours and six sixes. With still 21 balls left in the innings, the chase was completed in a successful manner. 3. 181/0 – CSK vs PBKS in 2020 Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson. Batting first, Kings posted 178 on the board, with KL Rahul emerging as the best batter for the team. In reply, Faf and Watson demolished an average bowling attack of the opposition scoring 100 runs in 10 overs. The duo continued their sublime performances and chased down the total in 17.4 overs. Faf garnered 87* off 53, while Watson bagged man of the match for his 83* off 53. 2. 184/0 – KKR vs GL in 2017 Chris Lynn & Gautam Gambhir. The Lions posted a score of 183 on the board, with Suresh Raina as the top-scorer with 68 off 51 balls. In reply, Chris Lynn and Gautam Gambhir were the openers for the KKR team. The duo provided a glorious start to the team, with Gambhir doing his task to steer the team at a fine rate and accelerating in regular intervals. In the end, he scored 76* off 48 balls, comprising 12 fours. It was the best performance from the Big Bash League (BBL) highest run-scorer, Lynn who slammed 93* off 41 balls, with 6 fours and 8 sixes. The duo chased down the score with 31 balls spare. 1. 210/0 – LSG vs KKR in 2022 Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul. (Photo Source: IPL/BCCI) In Match 66 of the IPL 2022 between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Mumbai, the highest-ever total was posted by the batters of the former team, without losing a wicket. The established opening pair in form of KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock delivered for the team in a must-win fixture for the them. The drop catch of Quinton early in his innings, certainly returned costly for the opposition. They had a superb start and were scoring consistent boundaries. In the 19th over of LSG’s innings, Quinton slammed four sixes on the trot, and followed it up with four consecutive fours in the last over of the innings. In the end, he remained unbeaten on 140 off 70 balls to help the team in posting 210. Rahul played a second fiddle in this partnership with 68* off 51 balls. Chasing down a tough total on the board, the middle-order of KKR was impressive in their efforts to reach close to the score, but fell short by two runs in a thrilling finish to the game.
