In Match 66 of the IPL 2022 between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Mumbai, the highest-ever total was posted by the batters of the former team, without losing a wicket. The established opening pair in form of KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock delivered for the team in a must-win fixture for the them.
The drop catch of Quinton early in his innings, certainly returned costly for the opposition. They had a superb start and were scoring consistent boundaries. In the 19th over of LSG’s innings, Quinton slammed four sixes on the trot, and followed it up with four consecutive fours in the last over of the innings. In the end, he remained unbeaten on 140 off 70 balls to help the team in posting 210.
Rahul played a second fiddle in this partnership with 68* off 51 balls. Chasing down a tough total on the board, the middle-order of KKR was impressive in their efforts to reach close to the score, but fell short by two runs in a thrilling finish to the game.
