IPL Points Table, Team Standings, Orange Cap And Purple Cap Updated List After RR vs RCB Match
With this victory, the RCB side continues to occupy the 3rd spot in the points table, while the Rajasthan side is occupying the 7th place.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) side notched up its second consecutive victory of the UAE leg of IPL 2021, with a comprehensive 7-wicket win over the Rajasthan Royals outfit. Chasing a target of 150, the RCB batsmen broke no sweat and easily coasted past the target with 17 balls to spare.
After putting on a quickfire opening stand of 48 runs in 5.2 overs, both Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal were dismissed in the space of 9 balls. While Padikkal was castled by Mustafizur Rahman, Kohli was caught short of his crease by an excellent throw from Riyan Parag.
Srikar Bharat stepped up for his side and scored a classy 44 off 35 deliveries. The right-hander started his innings in cautious fashion, but switched gears effortlessly. But then, Glenn Maxwell went berserk and scored a marauding 50* off just 30 deliveries to help the Virat Kohli-led side romp home with ease.
The RR bowlers did not experience much success, with only Rahman opening his account as far as the wickets column is concerned. The left-arm seamer picked up 2 wickets.
Evin Lewis’ 58 propels Rajasthan Royals to 149/9
The Rajasthan Royals (RR) side fizzled out after an excellent opening partnership between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Evin Lewis. The duo put on a blazing 77-run partnership off 8.2 overs to set the tone for a big total.
While Jaiswal scored a 22-ball 31, Lewis took on the Bangalore bowling attack and plundered 58 off 37 deliveries. However, the other Rajasthan batsmen failed to capitalize on the start provided by Lewis and Jaiswal.
None of the other Rajasthan batsmen could even cross the 20-run mark, and the ‘Men in Pink’ posted a total of 149/9 in their allotted 20 overs. With the ball, Harshal Patel was the pick of the bowlers for the RCB side, scalping 3 wickets in his quota of 4 overs.
Yuzvendra Chahal and Shahbaz Ahmed picked up 2 wickets each for the Virat Kohli-led outfit, while the likes of Daniel Christian and George Garton chipped in with a wicket each. With this victory, the RCB side continues to occupy the 3rd spot in the points table, while the Rajasthan side is occupying the 7th place.
