3. Ambati Rayudu
Ambati Rayudu played the first eight seasons of his IPL career with the Mumbai Indians. He played 114 games and also won three IPL titles with MI. However, in 2018, he was bought by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and ended up being the highest run-getter for the team.
Throughout the 2018 season, he moved up and down the order due to team combinations. But the Hyderabad batsman was very consistent. In fact, he turned out to be a match-winner and was a crucial part of CSK’s title-winning run. He scored 602 runs at an average of 43.00 and a strike-rate of almost 150. The 33-year-old recently quit first-class cricket to solely concentrate on his white-ball game.
Hence, it may not be a popular opinion but Rayudu can be considered as a possible captaincy option. He has led Hyderabad in the past and can be a pretty useful option.
