Former English women’s cricketer Isa Guha made history by becoming the first woman to be on the PCA board. PCA or Professional Cricketers’ Association is the representative body of the past and the current First Class cricketers in England and Wales. PCA was founded in the year 1967. They aim to work for the benefit of the English players and even address their grievances.

It is a forum where the players often voice their concerns, ideas, and innovations pertaining to the English cricket. Isa Guha is a former English fast bowler who was a key member of the English women’s side for quite a long time. She has been appointed as the non-executive director on the PCA board of members.

During her playing career, she has been a part of the victorious English team that won a World Cup, World T20 and also the Ashes. She played for almost a decade in the English team colors. She expressed her happiness over her appointment as the PCA member. She noted that she is looking forward to working with the PCA as she sees a lot of exciting world cricket events lined up in the near future.

“I am delighted to be joining the PCA at an exciting time for the game here in England for our men and women at both domestic and international levels,” she quoted.

“I look forward to working with the team at the PCA, and with all the many past and present players, as the country prepares for a number of major events – starting with the ICC Champions Trophy and the Women’s World Cup this summer,” she added further.

PCA chief executive David Leatherdale also expressed his happiness over the addition of Isa Guha on board. He quoted, “‘Isa has a vast knowledge of the game from both a men’s and women’s perspective, firstly through her time as a player and more recently from her work in the media on a global stage.”
