Liam Livingstone grabbed all the attention when he hit the longest six of IPL 2022 on Tuesday evening against the Gujarat Titans. But something that was missed from his evaluation of the last game was the catch that he took off Kagiso Rabada’s delivery to dismiss Lockie Ferguson.

A Twitter user shared a picture where Livingstone can be seen grabbing the ball with his hands wide open. When seen closely, the positioning of his hands looked like a crocodile’s mouth wide open, but the all-rounder managed to grab the ball. Livingstone replied to the user who pointed him out. “It’s the end result that matters right? it’s a bad habit of mine I have always done,” Livingstone wrote.

There was a big gap between his hands, and it seemed like he would drop the catch. However, he managed the situation well and grabbed the ball.

Punjab thrashed Gujarat to an eight-wicket defeat

Livingstone was one of the reasons behind Punjab’s comprehensive win against Gujarat. After the bowlers had done their job of restricting the Titans to a low total, the PBKS batters stepped up to complete the pending task. Livingstone walked in when Bhanuka Rajapaksa was dismissed.

Though the chase had been almost cut short by Rajapaksa and Shikhar Dhawan, who had brought up his half-century, Livingstone was on a roll from the word go. In the 16th over, he hit Mohammad Shami for three sixes and two fours to finish off the chase early.

Winning the game early helped PBKS gain the upper hand in the points table as they jumped up to the fifth spot while the Titans continued to stay on top of the table. However, skipper Mayank Agarwal’s decision of pushing himself down the order to let Bairstow open the innings and play freely failed as he walked back scoring just one, but efforts from Dhawan, Rajapaksa, and Livingstone helped the team emerge victorious.
