James Neesham, the fast bowling all-rounder, made a comeback to the New Zealand national team in the ODI series against Sri Lanka and played some scintillating knocks against them, But he got injured and was ruled out for a few games thereafter. The experienced campaigner recently played in the One Day International series against India that the home team lost 4-1.

In the last match at the Westpac Stadium in Wellington, the 28-year-old had a decent enough outing. During the Black Caps’ run-chase, Neesham scored 44 runs from 32 balls with four boundaries and a couple of sixes to keep the hosts in contention for a victory. The knock came at a time when the home team lost a few wickets at regular intervals and were in trouble.

Poor from James Neesham

Nevertheless, he got out in a rather bizarre manner. Kedar Jadhav hit him on the pads and appealed with all his might. MS Dhoni also made a loud appeal to get the batsman out. In the meantime, James came out of his crease and didn’t realize that he came out a bit too much. Nonetheless, Dhoni had the presence of mind and he quickly noticed that Neesham was out of his crease.

Neesham wasn’t given Leg Before Wicket (LBW), but Dhoni ran him out, showing tremendous game awareness. In the meantime, a supporter on Twitter made him aware that it appeared to be a brain fade moment during the broadcast as replays suggested he had sight of the ball. He took to Twitter and wrote, “But the replay showed that you did sight the ball but were perplexed as to what to do next. Brain-fade?”

However, Neesham was rather surprised and took the sarcastic route to express that the real turn of events on the field wasn’t how the cameras made it appear. James replied and wrote, “Oh the replay showed that I saw the ball? Amazing cameras they have these days to see my eyeballs,”
