Pakistan legend Javed Miandad on Sunday said that he wouldn’t attend the T20 international games between the World XI and Pakistan in Lahore. The former captain wasn’t happy with the way the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) sent him out the invite remarking they showed no respect.

The veteran who scored more than 15000 international runs for Pakistan across formats is thus not expected to be present at the Gaddafi Stadium on the historic occasion as Pakistan take on the World XI for three T20 internationals on 12th, 13th and 15th September.

As the much awaited World XI tour closes in, the excitement levels of the cricket fans in Pakistan has peaked to sky levels. This series is largely being seen as a historical moment for Pakistan which may pave the way for the return of international cricket in the country.

This isn’t the first time Javed Miandad has created a controversy over something. Last year, the former coach and all-rounder Shahid Afridi were involved in a war of words which was later resolved. However, such controversies aren’t healthy in the backdrop of such an important event for Pakistan cricket.

Many fans were disappointed by Javed Miandad’s attitude and refusal to attend the game and didn’t take it in a positive way. While some bashed him, others trolled him for being such a cry baby.

Here are some of the reactions from the fans:

Seems like this fan spoke more sense than Miandad, didn’t he?

Too much pride ya?

Some hilarious outtakes on Javed

This guy deserves an applause for speaking out the right thing.

The war continued as people didn’t stop criticising Javed Miandad for being so unsporting.
