Stars of ICC Women’s World Cup, Jhulan Goswami along with Smriti Mandhana and hard-hitting batter Veda Krishnamurthy, backed the Indian Cricket Team to overhaul Australia in the upcoming ODI series. The fast bowler claimed that the manner in which Virat Kohli is leading the side is magnificent and should continue with his aggressive style of cricket.

Since Virat Kohli has taken over as captain of the Indian Cricket team has taken over, India has managed to win consistently in all formats of the game. Although, the only point of criticism one can make is Kohli has played against inferior opponents on away tours and bullied team at home conditions. The acid test for the skipper is yet to come with India playing on foreign soil. India tours South Africa next year in January 2018.

“He is a phenomenal cricketer. He is the best cricketer in the world. The way he is playing and leading from the front is fantastic. Virat should continue his brand of cricket. We follow a strict diet. We go to the gym on a regular basis. Cricket has changed, it’s become a powerful game. You need to have strength. You need to maintain a good diet,” stated Goswami according to her recent interview with India Today.

“You have to contribute in every department of the game today,” added the Indian fast bowler. India’s opener Smriti Mandhana, on the other hand, had no advice for the Indian team and wanted them to continue with the flow.

“They have been playing exceptional cricket for the last 4-6 months. I don’t think they need our advise…they should just go with the flow, enjoy what they are doing and I’m sure they will beat the Aussies,” remarked Mandhana. India’s middle order sensation Veda Krishnamurthy backed fellow Kannadiga KL Rahul to come back strong in the series.

“KL is doing exceptionally well in whatever opportunities he got to play for India. It’s very unfortunate that he gets injured or falls sick more than its expected but I think he’s going to come back strong and do well against the Australians. He has done well against them before and I think playing at home will be a huge advantage for us. Just nail and don’t let the Aussies come on top,” claimed Veda.
