South Africa’s star batsman JP Duminy’s charity, the JP21 Project, will host a charity game in December at the Val de Vie Estate in Franschhoek which is 75 kilometers from the city Cape Town. Star players like AB de Villiers, Faf du Plessis, and Morne Morkel are expected to participate in this game to attract crowds to turn up to watch the game.

Tickets for the game to be affordable

It is named as the JP21 Super Eights Charity Cricket Tournament which will take place on Sunday, December 17. Jean Paul Duminy himself will be seen in action apart from his current teammates in a fun-filled 8 overs a side game of cricket. The tickets for this game are already on sale and are being sold as an all-inclusive option, as well as a picnic area, food trucks music and live entertainment. The organizers have mentioned that the tickets are not being sold at a very expensive price as they wanted the event to be accessible and affordable to most cricket fans.

The organizers say that it will be a “family day of entertainment and high-quality cricket, with a tiered ticket system which will make it affordable and accessible for all enthusiasts”.

JP21, a great initiative

The jp21 project was established in 2014 with a purpose of providing a platform for sports for the underprivileged children. It focuses in the Western Cape outlying areas of Strandfontein and Mitchells Plain. The project is said to be in the expansion stage and will soon be a national project.

Duminy has had a great career with the Proteas. Aged 33, Duminy is a veteran of 177 ODIs and 71 T20Is and a regular in both formats scoring 4638 runs at 37.70 and 1683 runs at 38.25 respectively. In the longest form of the game, Duminy has largely struggled, scoring 2103 runs at 32.85 in 46 Tests. He was sent home midway through the England series last month and will struggle to win another Test cap in the rest of his international career.
