Karnataka Premier League 2017 - All that you need to know

The 2017 edition of the Karnataka Premier League (KPL) is expected to be a bigger at better affair than the previous editions. Over the last few years, the tournament has grown in stature and has garnered immense popularity. Coming into the the sixth edition, the expectations are soaring sky high for the franchises and the players.

Karnataka Premier League, a tournament that is played on the lines of the popular Indian Premier League, will see 8 teams battle for glory in the 2017 edition of the tournament. KPL 2017 will be played across three venues this season. The team owners and the team managements have got their permutations and combinations going.

The auctions for KPL 2o17 saw all-rounder K Gowtham and Amit Verma make the big gains this year. Popular names like Mayank Agarwal also found riches while young players like 16-year old Shubhang Hegde made big news with his signing in the Belagavi Panthers roster. The tournament kicks off on September 1 this year.

The opening ceremony of the competition will take place on September 1 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Soon after the ceremony is over, the Belagavi Panthers will lock horns with Hubli Tigers. Defending champions Bellary Tuskers will start their title defense against the Namma Shivamogga on September 5 at Mysore.

Venues:

The Karnataka Premier League 2017 will be played across the three prominent venues in the state of Karnataka. The three grounds which will witness the action of KPL 2017 are M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, KSCA Hubli Cricket Ground at Hubli, and Srikantadatta Narasimha Raja Wadiyar Ground in Mysore.
