Virat Kohli is often known for his energy levels in the field and he showed a glimpse of it with his thumping celebration by sending a message to the dugout to continue clapping. The ongoing Test series in South Africa has been taking place under closed doors due to the surge in Covid-19 cases globally and the Indian bench played its role in encouraging the side in the absence of the fans.

Mohammed Shami picked up two quick wickets in an over to leave the Proteas tottering at 159 for the loss of 6 wickets with all the pure batters gone. In a moment of celebration, Kohli wanted the dugout to keep the support going on for the bowlers as they have done an excellent job so far. The skipper is very much pumped up to get hold of the Test and his bowlers deserve the kind of appreciation from the dugout.

Virat Kohli’s amazing celebration to cheer the team goes viral

Kohli insisted the dugout keep going with their ‘clap clap’ encouragement and it brought dividends quickly with Marco Jansen getting dismissed at the stroke of the Tea session. Jasprit Bumrah got the stumps flying with an excellent delivery that moved in viciously and India will feel a lot more confident now with Proteas still trailing by 47 runs. Keegan Petersen is still at the crease (at the time of writing the piece) which will be a concern for the skipper as the former has beautifully so far.

“Kohli celebrates the wickets.. looks towards his team dugout and shouts ‘Keep Clapping Boys. Keep Clapping’ and this follows. This guy just creates an amazing atmosphere in the match,” a fan posted on Twitter

Virat had already played an excellent hand of 79 in the first innings when all the other batters struggled for runs and it is clear, that he wants the records to be rewritten. India has never won a Test series in South Africa so far and it will be a huge effort if they go on to win the ongoing Test in Cape Town with the series level at 1-1.
