England cricketer Kevin Pietersen who is having a good time commentating in the tenth season of the Indian Premier League has denied the rumours of making a sensational comeback in the England national team.

With Joe Root now in charge of the England side and Alastair Cook out of the scene, there were talks of Kevin Pietersen and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) coming to good terms. But Pietersen has stated that he spends much more time with his family now than he used to do while playing for England.

The former England batsman quoted ITV “I spend a lot more time now with my family than I ever did when playing for England. I don’t think I want to do it.”

Pietersen also said that he does not want Root to get pressurised by all these rumours which have always come up whenever there has been a change in authority in the team.

“I don’t want to put that pressure on him as a young captain, to always have the nonsense of my rigmarole hanging on, let him do what he wants to do, let him enjoy it.”

“I love this young England cricket team and I want to see them doing well. I don’t want that nonsense, I’ve got no interest”

The 36-year-old does not at all share a good relationship with the ECB. In 2008 when Pietersen was leading the English side he had an ugly spat with then coach Peter Moores which removed him from captaincy. He announced his retirement from one-day cricket in 2012 only to make his return later. But he was removed permanently from the team after England’s awful whitewash at the hands of the Aussies in 2013-14.

Pietersen had in mind the desire to play Test cricket for his country which took a blow after the ECB announced that he won’t be recalled despite scoring a breathtaking 355 not out for Surrey. It was a real set back for the stylish player as he did everything possible to get back into the Ashes squad that summer.
