Kids in Afghanistan celebrate their team’s historic Test win over Bangladesh

Cricket as a sport has driven its fans to go crazy in the last couple of decades with the increasing level of competition at the international stage. In past teams used to get threatened by the teams of West Indies, Australia, England on the ground, but now the time has changed. Every nation has been a threat to another. ICC has started giving equal opportunities to showcase other nations their talent in front of the world.
Recently after a not so good World Cup for Afghanistan, they were up against Bangladesh for a one-off Test match. Afghanistan found themselves stuck in a situation where rain gods were being the roadblocks to register their first-ever away Test win. After heavy rains on Day 5, Bangladesh were given less than 20 overs to pick the remaining four Bangladeshi wickets to register their victory.
Every Afghanistan cricket fan was eagerly waiting for this emphatic win which came with the wicket of Soumya Sarkar. In a war-prone country like Afghanistan where development is as slow as a turtle walks, such a performance is never expected. Everybody knows how talented Afghanistan Cricket is and how much they are loaded with exceptional talent in their team. They are currently one of the biggest threats to the gigantic teams of the cricket in subcontinent conditions.
The moment the former chief executive of Afghanistan Cricket Board Shafiq Stanikzai shared the video of the celebration, it went viral in which the children were seen rejoicing and dancing all over the place. It took very less time for people to retweet it and mention that clip as the “most heartwarming thing on the internet”. Fans got mad and started talking about the hard work and the brand of cricket which is displayed by the Afghanistan cricket team in the past decade.

Afghanistan in their 3rd Test match also leveled the longstanding record of Australia by becoming the quickest nation to chalk up two victories. Rashid Khan was given the man of the match for grabbing 11 wickets along with an important contribution with his bat. He became the first player to bag 11 wickets and score a fifty in his debut match as a captain.
