KKR captain Gautam Gambhir lauds his teammate Kuldeep Yadav after his hat-trick
Kuldeep becomes the third Indian to take a hat-trick after Chetan Sharma and Kapil Dev
Not long after India’s Chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav won the match for India during the backend of the match with his hat-trick, Twitter exploded with congratulatory messages for the young wrist spinner. From former cricketers to the present ones, each and everyone lauded the feat of the promising talent.
The 22-year old brought heaps of joy to the cricketers who have watched him grow from close quarters namely his Uttar Pradesh captain Suresh Raina and Kolkata Knight Riders captain Gautam Gambhir. Interestingly, Kuldeep Yadav also brought up the feat at his adopted home ground in Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
Gautam Gambhir claimed that it is only his outfit which has changed from the purple of KKR to the blues of India but the mystery remained the same. “Colour of ur outfit may hav changed frm @KKRiders purple to @BCCI blue but d mystery around ur bowling remains d same….bravo @imkuldeep18” wrote Gambhir in his tweet.
Here’s a look at Kuldeep celebrating his hat-trick
His teammates and mainstays of KKR batting, Robin Uthappa and Yusuf Pathan also congratulated the Chinaman bowler for claiming the wickets of Matthew Wade, Ashton Agar and Pat Cummins off successive balls. Former UP cricketer Mohammad Kaif also joined in to praise the exceptional feat from Kuldeep Yadav.
Sachin Tendulkar, Irfan Pathan, Shikhar Dhawan, Murali Vijay and many others also stated their wishes for the exceptional feat from Kuldeep. Kuldeep Yadav had an uneventful seven overs of the spell, prior to the over which caused the carnage. Maxwell adopted an aggressive approach on Yadav and hammered him for two consecutive sixes off sweep shots earlier.
He was handed the ball in the 33rd over of the innings. In the second ball of the over, Matthew Wade played on to his stumps while trying to attack a wide delivery. The next ball, Ashton Agar, played the wrong line of a well flighted full ball and was adjudged leg before wicket.
Pat Cummins tried to fend the hat-trick ball and but misread the googly, which caught the edge of the bat, thereby, completing his hattrick.
