Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) skipper Dinesh Karthik has showered praises over the franchise for its handling of the players. KKR is one of the franchises with a considerable fan base in the IPL thanks to its co-owner and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Moreover, the team has also won the title twice, in 2012 and 2014, which makes it the third most successful team in the T20 extravaganza.

After Gautam Gambhir decided to move to the Delhi franchise, the KKR appointed Dinesh Karthik, one of the most experienced IPL players, the captain of the team. The team hasn’t performed to the expectations though in the last couple of seasons. However, even then the franchise has decided to continue with Karthik as the skipper despite acquiring Eoin Morgan’s services for this season.

Having played for five teams in the IPL before, Karthik is impressed with the way the KKR management has handled the players during his two-year stay thus far. “The one thing that goes with being with other teams is you see how the owners, how they treat players, how they react to wins and losses.

“Over a period of time, I have realised that KKR is the best when it comes to the handling of players, handling of wins and losses, and overall camaraderie and the relationship they tend to have through the year, irrespective of whether the IPL is going on or not,” he said while speaking on The RK Show on Youtube.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with KKR, says Dinesh Karthik

The KKR had bought Dinesh Karthik in the auction ahead of the 2018 season for a whopping amount of Rs 7.4 crore and named him the skipper. He led the side to the playoffs in the same year and has now stated that he has enjoyed his stay with the franchise in the last couple of years.

“I think I have come to probably one of the most balanced and loving franchises. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with KKR, easily the best franchise I have played for, in terms of ownership and the way they have taken care of all the players,” the 35-year-old added.
