KKR vs RCB Head-to-Head Record in IPL History

The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are yet to win an IPL trophy despite having a strong squad over the years. They reached the playoffs of the IPL in 2020 and were defeated by SRH in the Eliminator. The team also managed to qualify for the playoffs a couple of seasons back, however, they lost the Qualifier-2 against the Rajasthan Royals. And staged one of the biggest comebacks in the IPL.  On the other hand, KKR have won the IPL title thrice (2012, 2014 and 2024). 

KKR vs RCB Head-to-Head:

These teams have played 32 matches against each other in IPL, of which 18 have been won by KKR and RCB have won the remaining 14 games. These two sides have a history of rivalry as RCB registered its lowest total of 49 runs against KKR in 2017.

All-Time Top Performers:

Former RCB skipper Virat Kohli has an incredible record in matches played between these two sides in the IPL. He has scored the most runs (962) followed by Chris Gayle (606), AB de Villiers (475), Gautam Gambhir (475) and Brendon McCullum (411).  Among the bowlers, Sunil Narine has picked up the most wickets (26). He is followed by Yuzvendra Chahal (19), R. Vinay Kumar (17), and Andre Russell(17). 

KKR vs RCB In The Last Season:

The two teams last met in match no. 36 of IPL 2024 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Put in to bat, Phil Salt launched mercilessly into the RCB attack getting out for 48 runs in just 14 balls. KKR's batting mellowed down in the middle overs as Shreyas Iyer scored a sedate fifty, alongside rather moderate times at the crease for both Andre Russell and Rinku Singh. Ramandeep Singh's blitzkreig cameo then lifted KKR to 222. RCB started with the intent required to pull off such a big chase, big Virat Kohli's early dismissal generated controversy on the legal status of the not-so-waist-high full toss he recieved from Harshit Rana. Will Jacks and Rajat Patidar then picked up the slack with fifties of their own before Andre Russell dismissed them both in the same over. By that point it felt like the brakes were completely put on RCB as they could only motor along against Sunil Narine until the final over. Karn Sharma was facing Mitchell Starc with 21 runs needed off the last over. Sharma hit Starc for three sixes in the next four balls and brought the equation to 3 runs needed off 2 balls when Sharma handed Starc a very tough return catch to leave RCB needing 3 runs off the last ball after which Lockie Ferguson and Mohammed Siraj could only complete one run to leave RCB with an agonising one run loss.
