Indian pacer Mohammed Shami is in deep trouble now as the Kolkata Police have initiated an investigation after his wife filed a written complaint in the Jadhavpur Police Station. Hasin Jahan had earlier alleged that Shami and his family harassed her physically and mentally also that there was a threat to her life. After emerging in the media she met the cops and as the next step has filed an FIR.

Along with her accusations, Jahan shared images of his obscene chats with other women who she claimed were the ones Shami had extra-marital affairs with. The extent of it went another notch when she claimed that he had accepted money from a Pakistani girl and that if he could cheat on her the cricketer might have as well cheated on the country.

Non-bailable charges

On receiving the complaint, the Kolkata Police have registered a case under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code some of which are non-bailable.

The charges against Shami are under Section 498A which is – Husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty.—Whoever, being the husband or the relative of the husband of a woman, subjects such woman to cruelty shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three years and shall also be liable to fine.

Along with Section 307 – attempt to murder, Section 323 – punishment for voluntarily causing hurt, Section 376 – rape, Section 506 – criminal intimidation. With Shami four of his family members are also named in the complaint.

Match-fixing claims

Hasin Jahan claimed she has details that Shami took money from a girl Alisbah on the insistence of a Mohammed Bhai from England.

“If Mohammed Shami can cheat me then he can cheat the country as well. He accepted money from a Pakistani girl named Alisbah in Dubai. He agreed to accept it after the insistence of England-based Mohammed Bhai. I have proof,” she was quoted saying to ABP.

Quashing the allegations, the Indian pacer addressing a press conference said, “She has lost her mental stability. She has to prove all the allegations made against me. If I have tortured her then she needs to prove it.”

“I will also take legal action against her. Me and my family always wanted to stay with her. I have always loved her. You have seen that how happy we were in the interview. But I feel she is planning something evil,” he further added.
