KPL 2015 Match 15: Mangalore United v Hubli Tigers, Review
KPL 2015 Match 15: Mangalore United v Hubli Tigers, Review: Hubballi, September 10, 2015: Heavy rains forced the Karbonn Smart KPL 2015 tie between Mangalore United and Hubli Tigers to be abandoned on the last day of the Hubballi leg here on Thursday.
When play was called off, Mangalore United who had chosen to bat first were 123 for two from 15 overs with opening batsman Karun Nair having set the stadium alight with his superb stroke making.
The right-hander had hammered three huge sixes and seven scorching fours in his 47-ball unbeaten knock when the Gods decided it were enough. The other not out batsman was KC Avinash with 24 runs against his name.
“This is the second time we are involved in a washed out match”, lamented Mangalore United co-owner BM Farookh. “There is nothing we can do in this situation”, he added rather solemnly.
Mangalore United’s match against Bijapur Bulls was washed out without a ball being bowled forcing the teams to split points.
“It would have been a great contest had the game gone on”, opined Hubli Tigers CEO, Anutosh Poll. “I feel we could have chased down the 150-160 target”, he said, adding, “When fate deals you hands like this, there is nothing anyone can do”.
