Krishna Pandey hits six sixes in an over in Pondicherry T10 League
Pandey almost took the Patriots home single-handedly with a 19-ball 83.
Krishna Pandey managed to achieve one of the rarest feats in the ongoing Pondicherry T10 League, by hitting six sixes in a single over in the game between the Royals and the Patriots. Notably, Yuvraj Singh achieved the feat for the first time in T20Is in the 2007 T20 World Cup against England while Kieron Pollard was the last batter to achieve the feat in a T20I game, against Sri Lanka. Though the feat has been achieved in T10 cricket before, Pandey became the latest cricketer to the milestone.
Earlier in the game, the Royals won the toss and elected to bat first at Cricket Association Puducherry Siechem Ground in Puducherry. They reached a massive 157/3 in their ten overs on the back of opener R Ragupathy’s unbeaten 84 off 30 balls while Priyam Ashish and Santhosh Kumaran played a decent hand as well. S Parameeswaran (2/25) was the pick of the bowlers for the Patriots.

In reply, the Patriots lost three wickets by just the fifth over and they had an uphill task on their hands. However, Pandey managed to break the shackles and played an unbelievable knock of 19-ball 83 runs that included 12 sixes and two fours at a strike rate of 436.80. He almost won the game for his side until Aravindaraj picked him up and the Patriots ended up losing the game by just four runs.
Coming back to the sixes, Pandey produced a wide range of shots starting from the midwicket area to the backward point region off the bowling of Nitesh Thakur N. His fifth six went off the middle of the bat and sailed a long-distance and while his final six looked like a miscue, it went over the ropes to complete the record for him. The whole dug-out was on their feet to acknowledge the special achievement from Pandey.

Despite the loss, the Patriots stay at the top of the points table with eight wins in 12 games, while the Royals are in the seventh position in the points table now.
