India capitulated to a shock defeat against their sub-continental rivals Sri Lanka. Not many envisaged the Islanders to win this tie and the fact that they sauntered in a stiff chase of 322 with 7 wickets intact, rubbed salt into the wounds of the defending champions. It was a top class batting effort by a struggling Sri Lanka side who had lost their opening game badly to South Africa.

Record chase by Sri Lanka

Such a lopsided game against the No. 7 ranked ODI team was bound to bring wrath to the Men in Blue. Known for his acrimonious tweets, KRK was prompt in taking it to Twitter to voice his opinion on India’s defeat. This was the first time a score in excess of 300 was chased down in the history of Champions Trophy and it was India who had got the unwanted record by being the defending team. KRK first said that Sri Lanka proved that only “Ravans” win.

Mallya’s presence at the Charity Ball infuriates KRK

Virat Kohli recently hosted a Charity Ball in London on June 5. A surprise guest was in attendance which made the Indian Team slightly uncomfortable. It was none other than Vijay Mallya, who is wanted in India for defaulting on several bank loans. KRK said that because Kohli ‘partied’ with Mallya, he bared the curse of a lot of people whose money is on the line because of Mallya.

At the press conference, Kohli mentioned that he would have liked more runs on the board after Dhawan and Rohit got them off to a great start. KRK, again, was quick to pick on Kohli because the Indian captain had a registered a duck in this crucial encounter.

KRK never stops to amuse people with his outlandish tweets. He is not the most popular personalities going around in India but never shies away from giving his two cents on the current state of affairs.

Virtual quarter-final on Sunday

India have got them into a tangle after this defeat. The Sunday game against South Africa now is a virtual quarter-final as only one of these teams can now progress ahead in the tournament.
