Krunal Pandya was upset on not being able to dismiss AB de Villiers
Eventually, he ended up with impressive figures of 3/28.
Mumbai Indians (MI) continued having an upper hand over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) as they thumped them by 46 runs the other day. It was a complete performance from them which was also much-needed for the team to get off the mark in the ongoing season. Mitchell McClenaghan was on fire with the ball as he scalped the key wickets of Quinton de Kock and AB de Villiers. However, he has revealed now that Krunal Pandya was upset for not being able to take the latter’s wicket as usual.
Since Krunal has made his debut for Mumbai Indians in the T20 extravaganza, he is enjoying a lid over one of the best batsmen in the world. Before their recent game, the left-arm spinner had dismissed De Villiers 4 times in four innings which is an amazing record. He was also eager to make him his bunny on Saturday but the Kiwi pacer played spoilsport and sent ABD back into the hut even before Krunal was introduced to the bowling.
Mitch reveals
It was the trap that was set up by the home side for AB de Villiers and he fell into that very easily as the short ball was pulled straight into the hands of the deep mid-wicket fielder. While there were celebrations in the Mumbai camp after picking the prized wicket, the official Twitter handle has candidly revealed that Krunal was upset. “Krunal was a little bit upset. He’s on a roll to get AB de Villiers out so he wanted to take his wicket but missed out, ” Mitchell McClenaghan said according to them.
Krunal, however, was on fire himself and picked 3 wickets in his four-over spell an may be compensated for not taking his favourite wicket. He scalped the likes of Mandeep Singh, Corey Anderson and Washington Sundar and ended the day with the figures of 3/28.
