KSCA announces free entry for KPL 2017 final in Hubali

Fans can watch both the ultimate finale of the tournament and the first ever women’s KPL exhibition T20 preceding it at no cost.

Hubbali, 22 September 2017: Fans and cricket enthusiasts will be able to watch the final of the Karbonn Smartphones Karnataka Premier League (KPL) 2017, powered by Cycle Pure Agarbathies, on Saturday (23 September) for no cost after the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) decided to waive off tickets for the final day of the sixth edition of the tournament.

Entry is also free for the first-ever women’s KPL exhibition T20, which will precede the final and begin at 3pm. The clash between KSCA President’s XI and KSCA Secretary’s XI will feature India internationals like Veda Krishnamurthy, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Karuna Jain and Vanitha VR.

The fans can walk in for a solid day of cricketing action through Gate No. 3 at the KSCA Rajnagar Stadium in Hubali.

Belagavi Panthers have already sealed their place in the KPL2017 final, seeing off Hubli Tigers in a thrilling first semi-final on Wednesday. The second finalist will be decided on Friday evening as Bijapur Bulls clash with Namma Shivamogga in the second semi-final.

KPL 2017 has been roaring hit, with just the first eight matches (including a complete washout – Match 4) watched by 22.6 million viewers. In Karnataka alone, the reach of the KPL broadcast grew by three times to 3.7 million in 2017.

The tournament is being played in the memory of S.D.N.R Wadiyar, the former president of the KSCA and the scion of the Mysore royal family.
