Lance Klusener talks about MS Dhoni's future
Klusener spoke about how he perceived the hullabaloo surrounding MS Dhoni's career at present.
In recent times, a debate that has gripped the entire cricketing world is the future of former Indian skipper, MS Dhoni. While some feel that he’s way past his prime and should consider stepping down from the game, others opine that the man still has a lot of cricket left in him. In a recent interview, former Proteas all-rounder, Lance Klusener expressed his views on the matter and backed Dhoni for continuing with his game.
Klusener, who’s currently in the middle of coaching the Lyca Kovai Kings in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) for the second time, is thoroughly enjoying the stiff yet challenging task. Known for his fierce batting and lethal medium-fast swing bowling in his hay day, he’s considered by many as one of the greatest all-rounders of all time. He has previously coached the Hollywoodbets Dolphins of South Africa and also the Zimbabwe National team for a brief period.
Klusener supports MS Dhoni
Dhoni, who’s famed for his ability to deliver match-winning knocks consistently, has been bestowed with the title of the “Best Finisher” in world cricket for quite some time now. However, the 36-year old’s recent outings on the field have left fans craving for more and lead critics to question his ability to continue in the shorter formats.
In an interview with the Times of India (TOI), Klusener spoke about how he perceived the hullabaloo surrounding MS Dhoni’s career at present. “It’s always easy to call for somebody’s stepping down. You have got to look at who is going to fill that gap? Is that person going to be better than Dhoni straightaway? He is one of the best finishers to ever play the game. Why would you want to get rid of him? I think India would be foolish to do so. He still has got a lot to offer,” opined Klusener.
