'Learn some new magic tricks' - Sonal Chauhan responds to Shreyas Iyer's 'boring' picture
On Wednesday, Iyer posted a selfie of himself in which he can be seen sporting a yellow and blue t-shirt.
The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has made all the citizens of India including the cricketers confined to their houses since mid-march. Though the Indian government has now provided some relaxation in terms of going out, the sportsmen are yet to be back on the field to continue practice and playing.
The lockdown provided the cricketers an ample amount of time to spend with their families which they failed to do in their otherwise hectic schedule. Many cricketers also utilized this free time in connecting with their fans through social media. Shreyas Iyer is one such player who tried to keep himself busy by holding interactive sessions on social media or posting his videos and pictures.
The right-handed batsman had exhibited something new on social media as he posted funny magic videos featuring him and his sister in the early days of the lockdown. On Wednesday, he posted a selfie of himself in which he can be seen sporting a yellow and blue t-shirt. However, the thing that drew the attention of the netizens to that picture was the comment by Bollywood actress Sonal Chauhan.
On Wednesday, Iyer posted his pic with the caption “Bored in the House” on his official Instagram handle.
Giving a solution to his boredom, Sonal advised him to learn some new tricks. The actress commented, “Learn some new magic tricks”
Shreyas Iyer last donned the Indian Jersey during the New Zealand tour
On the professional front, Iyer was last seen in action during the India tour of New Zealand. The Indian team was supposed to host South Africa for a three-match ODI series in March and then head to their respective IPL franchises training camp. However, both events were suspended for an indefinite time.
Nonetheless, the middle-order batsman will now return to competitive cricket in IPL 2020 as BCCI has decided to host the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 19 to November 10.
Shreyas had a good IPL last year as he captained the IPL franchise Delhi Capitals. Last year, under his leadership, Delhi won 13 out of 24 matches and made a place for itself in the playoffs of the cash-rich league.
