9. 6 – Wasim Akram 1996-1999
Wasim Akram led Pakistan in the 1996 and 1999 World where he won 6 consecutive matches each. In 1996 they beat England, New Zealand until they were beaten by India in quarterfinals, but Wasim Akram didn’t play that match due to injury and Aamir Sohail led the team. In the 1999 World Cup, Akram again captained the Pakistani team and won their first 4 matches in the group against West Indies, Scotland Australia and New Zealand before Bangladesh stunned them in their last game. Pakistan reached the final of the 1999 World Cup where they were decimated by Australia after being bowled out for 132.
