In a career spanning 10 years, Midwinter played 12 Test matches in his career. While he played 8 Test matches for Australia, the all-rounder also featured in 4 Test matches for England as well. And, over the years, there have been as many as 32 cricketers who have offered their services for more than one country in international cricket.
Kepler Wessels is another famous name who represented both Australia and South Africa in his international career. Wessels even went on to lead the South African side as well. While Wessels played 78 international matches for Australia, he also featured in 71 international matches for South Africa as well.
Another famous cricketer who lent his services to two countries is Eoin Morgan. Morgan started his international career with the Ireland cricket team and played 23 ODIs for them. After that, Morgan turned out for the England side and has played a colossal 338 international matches for the England cricket team. The left-handed batsman has played 16 Tests, 220 ODIs, and 102 T20Is for England.
In fact, it was under Morgan’s leadership that England experienced their proudest moment in history when they won the coveted 2019 ODI World Cup. Among Indian players, as many as 4 of them have offered their services for two countries.
The likes of Iftikhar Ali Khan Pataudi, Gul Mohammad, Abdul Hafeez Kardar, and Amir Elahi have turned out for two countries. While Iftikhar Ali Khan Pataudi played for both India and England, the other three cricketers played for India as well as Pakistan.
The latest cricketer to have offered his services for two countries is Hayden Walsh. Walsh started his international career with the United States of America team. After a year with the USA side, Walsh went on to represent West Indies. The 29-year-old has represented the West Indies in 18 international matches.
