List of Indian batsmen with most ODI hundreds outside Asia

Indian batsmen have always struggled outside Asia owing to the faster pitches found in Australia, England and South Africa or for swinging conditions in New Zealand and England. But there have been some batsmen from India who made it their mission to score runs and prove the theories for India being poor outside Asia wrong.

Here is the list of Indian batsmen with most ODI hundreds outside Asia:

7. 4 – Rahul Dravid  Inn: 142

The former Indian skipper Rahul Dravid scored 4 centuries in 142 innings outside Asia. One of the most dependent batsman to be called upon a time of distress, he could hold an innings together in times of it falling apart, but he could also hit out in case of an emergency needing quick runs.

6. 4 – Virender Sehwag Inn: 80

One the most prolific openers in ODIs, Sehwag scored 4 centuries outside Asia in places like South Africa, Australia and England. One of the most devastating openers in history of cricket, he loved the bounce and pace because it helped his game play of standing and delivering, without moving his feet much.

5. 6 – Rohit Sharma Inn: 75

Rohit Sharma hit his 6th hundred against Australia at Brisbane. One of the most talented batsmen today, he has also hit 2 double hundreds in ODIs, the only batsman to do so in ODI history. His highest score is 264 against Sri Lanka.

4. 6 – Shikhar Dhawan Inn: 46

Shikhar Dhawan has scored 6 of his centuries outside Asia in 46 innings. These include centuries in ICC Champions trophy in 2013 in England and two centuries in the 2015 World Cup in New Zealand and Australia.

3. 8 – Virat Kohli Inn: 74

Virat Kohli has scored 8 centuries out of Asia in 74 innings. He has scored centuries in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. He also scored a brilliant century in the 2015 World Cup. Kohli has been earmarked as the future Indian captain in ODIs and has the batting credits to follow that claim.

2. 11 – Sachin Tendulkar Inn: 171

The great Sachin Tendulkar hit 11 centuries outside Asia in 171 innings. These centuries have been hit in places like Sharjah, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, West Indies and England. Sachin’s highest score outside Asia is 165 retired hurt against New Zealand.

1. 12 – Sourav Ganguly Inn: 131

Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has the most hundreds in ODIs by any Indian outside Asia. He has 12 hundreds in 131 innings. He scored runs everywhere in the world, places like England, Australia, Sharjah, West Indies, Canada and Kenya among some of them. His highest score is 183 against Sri Lanka in the 1999 World Cup in England.
