Preview
Malta will lock horns with Cyprus in the 2nd match of the ECI Malta T10 at Europa Sports Complex in Gibraltar on November 18. Cyprus have not been in too great of a form recently, losing all their last five matches, while Malta has been decent, managing to win two of their five games.
Malta played against England XI in their last match, where England XI won the toss and elected to bowl. On a decent track, Malta started off aggressively, scoring 45 runs in four overs for the opening stand. They had decent partnerships to follow as well, which kept the run-rate going. They posted a good total of 107 runs on the board. England XI were sensational in their start to the chase as they ousted 44 runs in just 2.3 overs. They went out all guns blazing into the chase and made a decent total look like a mockery. They won the game by eight wickets with almost four overs to spare.
Cyprus squared off against Switzerland in their last encounter, where Cyprus had won the toss and elected to bat. They started really well after choosing to bat, with the opening stand lasting for 56 runs in six overs. However, once the first wicket fell, they kind of lost their track and were unable to form substantial partnerships. They were only able to amass 96 runs in their innings in the reply to which Switzerland lost an early wicket and looked wary. They did not panic, though, and were able to keep their calm. A sensational third-wicket partnership won them the match by eight wickets.
