'Lockdown me aapke cheeks bahar aa rahe hai' - Yuzvendra Chahal gives a befitting reply to Rohit Sharma after he takes a dig at the leg-spinner's outfit
Be it press conferences or social media interactions, Rohit has always tickled people's funny bone by his hilarious comments. However, it was Chahal's turn this time.
After donning the opener’s role of the national side, there was no looking back for Rohit Sharma. The right-hander is currently regarded as one of the best batsmen of the sport due to his impeccable timing and explosive batting. Over the years, the Mumbai Indians skipper has paved his way to the list of modern-day greats.
The previous year was undoubtedly a memorable year for Rohit. India’s limited-overs vice-captain proved his class in the 2019 World Cup and followed it up by performing in the Test series against South Africa. Along with his run-scoring spree and explosiveness, one thing that Rohit flaunts time and again is his sense of humour. Be it press conferences or social media interactions, Rohit has always tickled people’s funny bone by his hilarious comments.
Rohit shares a great camaraderie with Yuzvendra Chahal since the leg-spinner was a part of Mumbai Indians squad. Chahal has been Rohit’s target on many occasions as the MI skipper has not shied away from trolling the leg-spinner. Rohit tried to do that again on Chahal’s latest Instagram picture. However, Chahal was ready with a rib-tickling reply this time.
Rohit Sharma poked fun at Chahal’s oversized hoodie
“Kapde ke andar tu hai ya kapda tere andar hai” (You are inside the cloth or the cloth is inside you?), commented the Rohit when Chahal shared a photo while wearing an oversized hoodie. Many fans were left in splits by Rohit’s hilarious comment on the picture. However, Chahal didn’t hold back and gave a befitting reply to the Mumbai Indians skipper.
“Jaise iss lockdown mein aapke cheeks bahar aarahe hai mujhe kapdo ke andar he rahne doh (The way your cheeks are coming out in this lockdown, let me stay inside the clothes only) cutiepie rohitaaa sharmaaa,” wrote Chahal.
Rohit and Chahal were set to represent their respective franchises in the thirteenth edition of the IPL. However, with the indefinite postponement of the tournament, players are left with no choice but to stay at home with their loved ones.
Meanwhile, many Indian players have also resorted to outdoor training following the ease in COVID-19 lockdown restrictions. However, there’s still no clarity over the resumption of sporting events in the country. Rohit Sharma, skipper Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane are still stuck in Mumbai as the city has been affected the most amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
