A lot of eyebrows went up when Tim David was picked up for a whopping INR 8.25 Crores by the Mumbai Indians and such has been the impact he has made for various franchises around the globe. The Singaporean cricketer played one IPL game after being snapped up by the Royal Challengers Bangalore last year as a replacement but couldn’t do much damage. The 24-year-old recently ripped the bowling attack apart with mind-blowing knocks in the PSL 2022 and it is no wonder, franchises wanted him in the side.

David has been used in the middle order as a floater more often and can turn up with some overs if needed too. He will have a big role to play in the Mumbai Indians setup which is the most successful franchise in IPL history with five titles and the price tag will definitely mount the pressure on him. With a lot of match-winners in the Mumbai Indians squad, David will get to learn a lot and could be groomed into the role that Kieron Pollard has played for the franchise over the years.

It will be great to test myself against Bumrah:  Tim David

David mentioned that he is willing to take up the challenge of facing Jasprit Bumrah in the nets as the latter is considered to be among the best fast bowlers in the world. The right-hander noted that it won’t be easy against Bumrah in nets and he was also delighted to be sharing the dressing room with limited-overs greats like Kieron Pollard and Rohit Sharma in the Mumbai Indians squad.

“One bowler I am looking forward to facing the most in the nets is Bumrah. I know it sounds strange because he is one of the best in the world but I believe it will be great to test myself against him. I am sure it is going to be hard work,” David told Mumbai Indians.com

David has played 14 T20 internationals so far, making his debut in 2019 scoring 558 runs with four fifties at a strike rate of 158.5.
