With two losses on the trot, GT requires a strong performance as a unit. The bowlers have not responded well to the challenge of the opposition and have been lacking the potency like their initial matches. On the other hand, the failure of the middle-order has hurt their chances of winning the games as well.

The MCA Stadium in Pune has been a high-scoring venue this season, with totals of over 160 being posted in a consistent manner.
