Madan Lal picks India's squad for T20 World Cup 2021
Lal added that he will mostly go with all-rounders in the team.
India’s squad of T20 World Cup 2021 is all set to come to the table on September 08, 2021, and there have been several speculations over the same. Various big names have given their predictions about the names that will go in the squad and in the same sequence, former Indian cricketer Madan Lal has come up with his thoughts.
Lal chose the 15-member squad that he thinks should go in the high-profile tournament. While appearing on Sports Tak’s YouTube channel, Lal stated that he is selecting his names on the basis of all-round skills. The majority of his names will be in form of those cricketers who can ace the role of an all-rounder and this is why he chose the likes of Shardul Thakur, Ravindra Jadeja, Hardik Pandya, and Axar Patel.
“I will go with names that can let me form the right and left-hand combination which is crucial in the team. My most of the players will be those who can take both roles. Bowlers I will take names who have been getting wickets for the team mostly,” said Lal

Lal further added that he will open up his order with KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma and Dhawan is also a great option for the opening slot. Kohli will come on number three for him. The middle-order will have the likes of Rishabh Pant, who Lal feels is an explosive batsman. The former cricketer added that Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, and Pant are some game-changing names.
A team will definitely have someone like Ravindra Jadeja and Shardul Thakur’s shot selection and variation in bowling has impressed big time recently, reckoned Lal. India is all set to play the first game of the T20 World Cup 2021 on October 24 against Pakistan. It will be an interesting affair to look out for, between the two arch-rivals, who now only lock horns in the ICC events.
