The Kolkata Knight Riders camp received a big setback when their middle-order batsman Manish Pandey was diagnosed with chicken pox.

According to the recent reports, the right-handed batsman will miss out on the games in the next couple of weeks. However, a confirmation from the Kolkata camp is yet to be received on the same.

Manish has been a key member for the two-time IPL champions, the Kolkata Knight Riders. In the four matches that he has played for the Knight Riders this season, Pandey has scored 90 runs. He scored a brilliant half-century in the match against Mumbai Indians that came off just 29 balls. With Pandey ruled out, it will be interesting to see who the KKR side will field in place of him.

Interestingly, he was a vital cog in the wheel for the Knight Riders from the last 2 seasons. He had cemented his squad and was also the Man of the Match in the finals of IPL 2014 when KKR defeated the Kings XI Punjab to win their second title.

However, the silver lining or the good news for the KKR fans and the fans of Manish Pandey would be that he is only being ruled for the next few matches. He will surely be back by the business end of the tournament when his services would be needed the most. He is a man of big occasions, and will surely be up for the challenge then. We hope for a speedy recovery!
